About this service
Southmead Project provides free counselling and support for survivors of abuse and addiction who live in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and BANES. We support people of all genders, aged 18 and above, who have experienced any type of abuse, including sexual, physical, emotional and domestic abuse, or neglect. We welcome people of any race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, class, ability, language, religion and cultural background. We value the differences between people and affirming each person as an individual.
The services provided by Southmead Project include Long term counselling, Nexus counselling for survivors of abuse who currently have an addiction to drugs or alcohol. They run a community based Active Recovery Project for people who are in or have completed counselling, and a Family Support group for people affected by another family member's drug or alcohol use.
Please note that waiting lists for Long-term counselling are currently closed (April 2026). Please check our website for the most up to date information.
